8 Dead and 1 Injured in PHI Helicopter Crash

PHI Helicopter Crash

On Monday Federal officials want to arrive
for finding out why a helicopter bound for
an offshore oil platform and crashed in
Louisiana's marshlands. This crash kill eight
& one get injured.
Richard Rovinelli who is a spokesman for the
company said Helicopter operated by PHI
and taking off on Sunday afternoon from
company's base in Amelia.

This helicopter crash because this happened about 100 miles southwest of New
Orleans which one isn't clear. Rovinelli did not know the type of helicopter and
its exact destination (where they have to go).

He also saying that in this helicopter there is the two pilots and seven passengers.
National Transportation Safety Executive Board has been informed of the crash and
investigators were expected to arrive Monday, Rovinelli said.

Petty Officer Jaclyn Young said Coast Guard assisted Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's
Deputies in the recovery of the dead and rescuing survivors from unidentified marshy
area of Bayou flavor. In the court's office spokesman did not return a telephone
seeking comment Monday morning.

He said that young survivor was taken to Ochsner medical facility in suburban New
Orleans. Young said the person was in critical condition.

Lafayette-based PHI is a leading provider of helicopter services to oil and gas platforms
dot the coast of Louisiana. It also flies medical helicopters.
