A Washington woman hid a stunned monkey under her shirt on a flight from Thailand,
was convicted of breaching the law on smuggling of wild monkey in the United States,
prosecutors said Tuesday.
Gypsy Lawson, 28, and his mother, Fran OGREN, 56, was convicted of smuggling and
conspiracy to smuggle monkey in violation of the law on endangered species and other
federal laws.
Lawson hid young Macaque rhesus monkey loose blouses under mounting on a flight from
Bangkok, Thailand, to Los Angeles, California, International Airport, pretending that she
was pregnant, the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Eastern District of Washington said.
