Shikshapatri Preface And History Of Shikshapatri

I have written this sikshapatri by incorporating therein the essence of all the sacred scriptures
extracted by me, can give desired objects to every human being.
Therefore all my disciplines shall always vigilantly act according to this shikshapatri and shall never act according to their own whims.
My male and female disciples who strictly act according to this shikshapatri will surely achieve all the four goals of life i.e dharma ,arth ,kam , and miksha.
The male and females of my sect shall know that the males and females who do not know this shikshaptri are cinsideres as excommunicated from this sect.


PREFACE


In the second half of the 18th century our country wad passing through a very difficult time .The political ,social and religious phases of public life were facing upheavals and chaos .The life was unsafe and the people were immensely suffering and groaning under the terrorism of thieves ,outlaws , thugs ,stanglers and robbers . The ifmorance and superstitions were wide spread The scriptures were being people misinterpreted by the wicked people to justify their sinful acts . As there was no ray of hope anywhere , allthe saintly people were praying for the incanation of God for their liberation .
The loard of ther loards and the source of the all incarnations Shri Swaminarayan Bhagwan
living in his heavenly abode " Akshardham " . heard the prayers of the afflicted people and took birth in a small village named Chhapaiya near Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh in a pious day of Ramnavmi of vikram samvat 1873 (i.e 02-04-178!)
Up to the age if seven years only , He learnt all the scriptures and at the age of eleven years He left home for pilgrimage and penance After travelling in the dense firests of Himalayas and in Nepal He visited almost all the main places of pilgrimage in north ,east,south , and west of our country . In the last phase of his tour he came to Saurastara region of Gujarat in the western India popularly known as the land of saints After having been satisfied himself with the knowledge and saintliness of Shri Muktanand Seami and other fellow saints ,disciples of Ramanand Swami. He stayed with them in village Loj Shri Ramanand Swami who was one of the gretest saints of that time initiated him into the ideolgy of 'Vishishtadvait' and enthroned him as successor and gave him the name of Shri Sahjanand.
